Growth and all.
I now find it difficult to judge people’s ideas because of how far I’ve come within a few years of consistent learning. A quote that readily comes to mind about this is Malcolm X’s “Don’t be in a hurry to condemn because there was a time you didn’t know what you know now”.
I once tweeted in support of early marriage, defending my stance with the often regurgitated and baseless “it’s better than zina”. While this topic is deeply contextual, I now realize the logical fallacy in that comparison.
So it shouldn’t be any surprise when I’m against digging up peoples posts from years back. Growth is the most natural thing there is.
It used to infuriate me how people keep on giving birth while they can’t cater to those they have. This anger is misplaced, because one’s financial status shouldn’t determine whether they deserve love and a family. The unjust systems in place are to blame.
I choose to patiently educate those that are open to change of mind, while dealing from far with those that aren’t; especially when their beliefs could negatively affect me.
